BOLD's programs are led by specialist staff and implemented by a group of well-trained and dedicated volunteers.
Playgroup - Target Group: 3 - 5 years old with difficulties/developmental delay in social, communication and/or language skills
- Weekly, one hour sessions
- Activities designed to stimulate development of social and communication skills, e.g. turn taking, staying on task, following instructions
- One parent/caregiver must attend the sessions together with the child
Focus on Literacy
- Target Group: 6 - 8 years old facing difficulties in learning to read and write
- One hour sessions, 2 - 4 times per week
- Teaching materials and methods designed to help children achieve basic reading level in medium of instruction of their school (Bahasa Malaysia or Chinesel)
- BOLD staff will assess children to establish whether they will benefit from the program
- Target Group: 3 - 6 years old with Special Needs
- Objective: to work in partnership with families, assist them with the necessary resources and skills, and support their child's inclusion in kindergarten, school, and community living
First Step Early Intervention Centre (in partnership with Asia Community Services)
- Target Group: Children from 0 - 6 years old, with learning difficulties
- and/or developmental delay

Inclusion
(in partnership with Asia Community Services)
- This program works with kindergarten and schools to provide the necessary supports for the inclusion of Children with Special Needs in mainstream classes.
- Regular newsletters to increase awareness and knowledge.
- Visits from skilled personnel to provide itinerant support to teachers as well as parents.
Respite Care (in partnership with Asia Community Services)
- For families with children with disabilities, of any age.

JOM Mobile Toy Library (in partnership with Asia Community Services) - Various activities to promote play with primary service focus on supporting children with severe disabilities in the rural areas, through visits to selected PDK centres in Penang.
- Stimulate and promote play and encourage spontaneous learning through enjoyment of play.
Announcement on Play Therapy Program
Play Therapy has been part of BOLD’s programs
since 2005. From 2009, the Play
Therapy section has expanded to include Creative Counseling Skills. This was
part of the preparation for a new organization that can grow further in the
direction of mental health work. On 1 April 2011, the Centre for Creative
Arts Therapy, Penang (CCAT) was registered.
From 1 July 2011,
CCAT takes over all Play Therapy and Creative Counseling Activities formerly
under BOLD. While CCAT will work within
the rubric of mental health issues, BOLD will consolidate its focus on Children
