Dr. Thana Singarjah, Ed.D. LCPC, NCC, is the Director of Professional Development in the Department of Counseling, in the College of Health Related Professions. Born and raised in Malaysia, but educated in England and the United States, Dr. Thana has lived in Idaho since 1980. He has been a Clinical Assistant Professor at Idaho State University, Pocatello since 1988 and has been active in adolescent counseling and in the Idaho Foster Care system. He has three adopted sons and has fostered/adopted 54 sons through the Health and Welfare system as well as through the judicial system. Dr. Thana has received various awards, including the Brightest Star of Idaho from the Governor of Idaho and the Eastern Idaho United Way Council’s highest award for Community Leadership. He founded two men’s shelters and a women’s shelter in Idaho Falls. He started, managed and gifted to the community as a not-for-profit entity, the largest mental health agency in Idaho from 1983 to 2008 called Family Care Center. Dr. Kelli Saginak, Ed.D., NCC, Licensed School Counselor, lives in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. Kelli has dedicated most of her career to education, as a teacher, counselor, prevention specialist, and consultant. She loves young people and strives to educate and train professional counselors to meet the needs of today’s youth, as advocates, leaders, and experts in child development. Kelli has been a counselor educator for 15 years, and spends most of her classroom time teaching school counseling, counseling process, group counseling, lifespan development, and addictions counseling. She has published and presented on a variety of counseling-related topics, including experiential group counseling & group leadership, school counseling leadership, and service-learning in counselor education. |
